Human skeletal remains were found Friday evening off Wharton’s Dock Road in Bandera County, Texas. A caller alerted the Bandera County Sheriff’s Office, which responded and recovered the remains along with other evidence.
The Bandera County Sheriff’s Office and the Texas Rangers are leading the investigation. The remains and collected evidence have been sent for forensic analysis to determine identity and cause of death.
Deputies located the remains in a rural area and secured the scene. Investigators believe the remains may have been there for an extended period.
Authorities have not released information about the possible age or sex of the deceased. DNA testing, dental comparison, and other forensic methods will be used to establish identification.
Investigators are asking the public for information, particularly from anyone who saw unusual activity in the area. Residents expressed concern about the discovery and its implications for community safety.
