MANILA, Philippines–Filipinos in Israel and Iran have been advised to consider voluntary repatriation amid escalating regional tensions.

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) announced Friday night that it raised the crisis alert level to Alert Level 3 for both countries, designating it as a stage for voluntary repatriation. The move comes as tensions continue to rise between Israel and Iran, prompting precautionary measures from the Philippine government.

In its statement, the DFA emphasized that the alert level increase is not a cause for panic but a proactive step to safeguard Filipino nationals in the affected areas. Filipinos currently residing in Israel and Iran are urged to consider returning to the Philippines for their safety.

The department also discouraged non-essential travel to these regions, citing the potential risks posed by the ongoing conflict. The situation has already led to the closure of some airspaces and seaports in the region.

The DFA has provided emergency contact details for the Philippine embassies in Tel Aviv and Tehran, including hotline numbers and email addresses to assist Filipinos who wish to return home. Embassy hotlines will remain active to respond to concerns and coordinate necessary arrangements.

Officials assured that humanitarian assistance will be available for those opting for voluntary repatriation. Filipinos in need of shelter or assistance are encouraged to reach out to their respective embassies as soon as possible.

The DFA reiterated its commitment to the safety and welfare of Filipinos overseas. It is in continuous coordination with local authorities in both Israel and Iran and will issue further updates as the situation develops.

Travelers and overseas workers are advised to stay informed, monitor official government announcements, and exercise vigilance throughout this period of heightened tension.
