The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) in the Philippines announced on Friday the lifting of the voluntary repatriation status in Iran due to positive developments in the security situation.

The DFA revealed that the Alert Level in Iran has been reduced from Level 3 (Voluntary Repatriation) to Level 2 (Restriction Phase), effective immediately.

The DFA explained that the Restriction Phase is implemented when there are real threats to the life, security, and property of Filipinos due to internal disturbance, instability, or external threat.

The DFA continues to monitor the situation closely and assures the public of its commitment to the safety and welfare of Filipinos abroad.

Authorities evaluated the situation and concluded that the threat level had decreased sufficiently to warrant lowering the alert.

The DFA coordinated with relevant agencies and stakeholders to assess the security environment before making the decision.

Filipinos in Iran are advised to update their contact information with the Philippine Embassy for timely assistance.

The department reiterated its commitment to providing assistance and support to Filipinos facing difficulties abroad.

DFA officials urged the public to consult travel advisories and remain cautious while in affected regions.
