The Japanese animated film Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – To the Hashira Training became the first Japanese movie to surpass 100 billion yen in domestic box-office revenue, industry trackers reported.

Distributors said theaters across Japan, including major cities and regional areas, screened the film in multiple daily showings, with ticket sales pushing cumulative revenue past the 100 billion yen mark. Box-office monitoring companies confirmed the milestone using nationwide ticket sales data collected from cinema operators.

The movie features fast-paced fight sequences between characters and demons, with extensive visual effects and animation techniques. Production teams combined hand-drawn character work with computer-generated imagery to create depth, perspective, and environmental effects.

Animators designed a kaleidoscopic castle setting with shifting visual patterns, while sound designers synchronized music, effects, and dialogue to complement the action.

The production committee coordinated work across animation studios, sound houses, and distribution partners to complete the film on schedule and secure a wide release. Marketing efforts included television spots, online trailers, posters, and retail collaborations, while merchandise such as character goods and themed items promoted the film to audiences.

Streaming platforms and international distributors plan to release subtitled and dubbed versions for overseas markets.
