WASHINGTON — A national defense lawyers group has launched an online tracking tool that compiles Justice Department prosecutions that critics describe as examples of alleged “weaponization” during President Donald Trump’s second term, the organization announced.

The group, made up of criminal defense attorneys who handle federal cases nationwide, said the tool allows users to search and monitor selected prosecutions that have drawn public and political attention. The database appears on the organization’s website and lists charges, filing dates, jurisdictions and case status, based on publicly available court records and Justice Department announcements.

The platform features an interactive map that lets users click on states to view tracked cases filed in each jurisdiction. Users can filter cases by categories such as election-related conduct, national security, protests, public corruption and classified information handling. Each entry includes a summary drawn from court filings and links to official dockets when available.

The group said it selected cases that advocacy organizations, lawmakers, legal commentators or media outlets have identified as controversial. The organization said it aims to provide public access to information and does not offer legal advice through the site. It said it will update the database as cases proceed and may add or remove entries if new information emerges.

The Justice Department has not issued a formal response to the tool’s launch. Department officials have previously denied allegations of political motivation and said prosecutors base charging decisions on evidence and law.
