DALLAS — City officials are investigating allegations that two information technology employees held jobs simultaneously with the cities of Dallas and Austin, according to an internal email.

Dallas officials said they received a tip in November, prompting Interim Inspector General Baron Eliason to open an investigation. Authorities notified the Dallas Police Department Public Integrity Unit, City Manager Kimberly Bizor Tolbert, and officials in Austin.

An Austin spokesperson said three technology services employees, including the chief information security officer, were terminated during the week of March 23 following a review.

Officials from both cities said the incident did not involve any breach of Dallas’ IT systems or loss of data. The Austin spokesperson added that the case is not linked to any known cybersecurity threats or information security issues.
