A crash involving two 18-wheelers and another vehicle on northbound I-69 near Greens Road resulted in a fuel spill, leading to multiple lane closures on September 8, 2025. This incident caused significant disruption in the area and has been affecting traffic flow.

Houston Transtar reported that the right and center lanes, along with the right shoulder, are impacted. Traffic authorities have advised motorists to exercise caution when navigating the area. The crash scene has created a bottleneck, with traffic moving at a slow pace as cleanup efforts continue.

Emergency response teams attended the scene, focusing on containing the hazardous material spill. The Houston County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) and its special service bureau have been actively involved in managing the situation. Traffic officers redirected vehicles and ensured the safety of all personnel on site.

Firefighters used absorbent materials to mitigate the fuel spill. They aimed to prevent it from spreading further. The cleanup operations are expected to take several hours. The nature of the spill required specialized handling to ensure environmental safety and the protection of nearby residents.

HCSO Lieutenant Terry Garza announced the situation on social media. Garza provided real-time updates and advised drivers to remain cautious. Garza reiterated that traffic was moving, though at a reduced speed.

Drivers experienced delays in the area due to the lane closures. Commuters were advised to find alternative routes to avoid prolonged travel times. The incident highlighted the vulnerability of major roadways to accidents involving large vehicles.

The cause of the crash is under investigation. Authorities are gathering statements from drivers and witnesses. They aim to determine the sequence of events leading to the incident. It is unclear if any individuals sustained injuries in the crash.

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is involved in assessing any potential damage to the roadway. Engineers will inspect the integrity of the road surface once the debris is cleared. Any necessary repairs will be undertaken to restore the highway to its original condition.

Local law enforcement will continue monitoring the situation. They will work with transportation officials to ensure the safe reopening of lanes. The ongoing cooperation between agencies highlights the coordinated response to incidents of this nature.
