Jaydon Blue, a former Texas Longhorn, was selected by the Dallas Cowboys as the 149th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

The 21-year-old running back stands 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs 196 pounds. Blue has joined a running back group featuring both veteran players and other rookies competing for playing time.

During his college career, Blue demonstrated agility and quickness, attributes noted during his transition to professional football. Early in training, he experienced an ankle injury but returned to participate fully after recovery.

Coaching staff have compared Blue’s running style to that of former NFL player Darren Sproles, citing his ability to navigate space and contribute in multiple aspects of the offense. Blue has faced some criticism regarding work ethic but continues to work toward securing a role within the team.

The Dallas Cowboys are aiming to strengthen their running game, and Blue’s addition increases depth at the position. His progress will be monitored as the team prepares for the upcoming season.
