The Philippine Consulate General and the Knights of Rizal (KOR) Texas Area Command held a joint commemoration of the 128th Anniversary of the Martyrdom of Dr. Jose Rizal on 30 December 2024.
Consul General Gunther Sales, together with KOR Texas senior representatives – Sir Nileon Dimalaluan Jr., Sir Randy Datu, Sir Mel Garraton, and Lady Belle Datu (KRI) – led a wreath laying ceremony at the bust of Rizal in Hermann Park’s McGovern Centennial Gardens in Houston. A commemorative program was held afterward at the Consulate General with messages delivered celebrating the life, learnings, works, and sacrifices of the Philippines’ national hero.
This theme of this year’s anniversary is “Rizal sa Bagong Pilipinas: Buhay at Aral, Aming Nilalandas”.
