DETROIT — Claressa Shields successfully defended her undisputed heavyweight titles on Saturday night, defeating Lani Daniels by unanimous decision in front of 15,366 fans at Little Caesars Arena.
Shields, 30, maintained her undefeated record, improving to 17-0, while Daniels, 36, the IBF light heavyweight champion, fell to 11-3-2. The victory marked Shields’ latest defense of her heavyweight titles and reinforced her status as the first undisputed heavyweight champion in women’s boxing.
The bout served as the main event of a high-profile fight night that also featured former super-welterweight champion Tony Harrison. Harrison secured a unanimous decision win over Edward Diaz of the Dominican Republic, despite being knocked down in the ninth round of their 10-round contest.
Daniels entered the ring on a seven-fight winning streak before facing Shields. The fight marked her first loss since that streak began.
The event included several undercard matchups and drew strong interest from fans and the boxing community.
