AUSTIN, Texas —Austin city officials announced that a task force is gathering public feedback on a proposed 2026 bond package that could go before voters in November 2026.

The task force, composed of community representatives, experts, and city appointees, is holding public meetings, workshops, and listening sessions across all council districts.

City staff said the task force is reviewing population growth, existing infrastructure needs, long-term capital improvement plans, and prior bond projects to guide recommendations. Cost estimates, timelines, and feasibility assessments for proposed projects will be presented during the planning process.

The bond package may fund road repairs, sidewalk construction, public transit upgrades, flood mitigation, water and wastewater improvements, public safety facilities, affordable housing, parks and recreation projects, and library or cultural facility enhancements.

The task force will submit recommendations to the City Council, which will decide the final bond amount and projects for the ballot. Residents can also provide input through online surveys and digital platforms.

City officials plan additional briefings and educational materials ahead of the November 2026 election.
