SAN ANTONIO — The City of San Antonio and Bexar County will hold a public vigil at Main Plaza at 10 a.m. to raise awareness of domestic violence and honor individuals who died as a result of such incidents, following 17 domestic violence fatalities recorded in the county last year.
Local officials will speak at the event in connection with Domestic Violence Awareness Month and will call for continued prevention efforts and community engagement.
Families, survivors, and relatives of victims will participate and will have opportunities to share their experiences.
Organizers scheduled a moment of silence to honor lives lost to domestic violence. The vigil forms part of ongoing efforts in San Antonio and Bexar County to reduce domestic violence through education programs, resources for victims, and partnerships with community organizations.
Officials encourage residents to attend the vigil as a show of public support and to help advance awareness and prevention initiatives.
