Christophe Bariou says he, Nadine Lustre targeted in ₱50M extortion plot

MANILA, Philippines– Christophe Bariou alleged an attempted extortion of ₱50 million involving him and actress Nadine Lustre in a public statement released this week.

Bariou said the incident occurred in an island province known for its surfing tourism, where he and Lustre have been living and running businesses. He claimed that local officials engaged in corruption and harassment against them and their ventures.

Bariou did not name the individuals or offices allegedly involved in the extortion attempt. Local officials in the province have not issued any statements regarding the allegations.

He said the harassment has affected both their personal lives and business operations in the area. The couple’s businesses reportedly contribute to the province’s tourism economy.

No formal complaints or legal actions have been announced following Bariou’s statement. Authorities have yet to confirm if investigations will take place.
