Carlos Yulo earns vault, floor final slots at World Championships

Carlos Yulo secured places in the men’s vault and floor exercise finals at the 53rd Artistic Gymnastics World Championships on Monday in Antwerp, Belgium, after recording top scores in the qualification rounds at the Belgium Arena.

Yulo competed in Subdivision 7 and led the vault field with a total score of 14.750. He placed second in the floor exercise qualification. The finals for both events are scheduled later in the competition week.

Yulo last won gold in both events at the 2024 Paris Olympics and is the first Filipino gymnast to medal at a World Championships.

His entry into the finals adds to his record of podium finishes in international competitions. Gymnasts from several countries are competing in Antwerp for world titles.
