World No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz suffered an early exit at the Paris Masters on Tuesday after losing to Britain’s Cameron Norrie, ranked No. 31, 4-6, 6-3, 6-4.

Alcaraz, a six-time Grand Slam titleholder, has yet to win the Paris Masters despite five previous appearances.

The loss raises the possibility of Alcaraz relinquishing the top ranking, depending on the performance of rival Jannik Sinner in the tournament.

The Paris Masters is an ATP Masters 1000 event played on indoor hard courts at Accor Arena in Bercy. Alcaraz entered the tournament as part of his preparation for the upcoming ATP Finals, where the top eight players of the season will compete.
