Cadets at Texas State University held a stair climb tribute to honor the victims of the September 11, 2001 attacks. They ascended 2,090 steps, which represents the 110 floors of the World Trade Center. The event was a joint tribute organized by the Army and Air Force ROTC programs at the university.

Cadet Rodriguez led the initiative to strengthen morale and unity within the ROTC community. The event also served to commemorate those who lost their lives during the attacks. Cadet Rodriguez emphasized the importance of remembering the sacrifices made on that day.

The stair climb took place at UFCU Stadium, where cadets participated in the physically demanding tribute. The event aimed to reflect the dedication and perseverance shown by first responders during the 9/11 attacks.

Participants included cadets from both the Army and Air Force ROTC units at Texas State University. The collaboration highlighted the unity and shared purpose of the cadets in honoring the memory of the victims.

The stair climbing event has become an annual tradition for the ROTC programs at Texas State University. It serves as a reminder of the bravery and sacrifice demonstrated by the first responders and victims of the September 11 attacks.

Texas State University has a history of engaging in commemorative events for 9/11. The university promotes such activities to instill a sense of responsibility and remembrance among its students.

The stair climb tribute not only honored the memory of those who perished but also aimed to inspire the cadets. The physical challenge of the event mirrored the efforts and struggles faced by emergency personnel on that day.

Cadets prepared for the stair climb by ensuring they were hydrated and had the necessary supplies to complete the climb safely. The preparation demonstrated their commitment to honoring the legacy of the 9/11 victims.

The university community supported the cadets’ efforts by attending and participating in the event. This support reinforced the collective remembrance of the tragic events and the resilience of those involved.

The tribute at Texas State University was one of many held across the country. Various institutions and organizations marked the anniversary of the attacks with similar commemorative events.

The cadets’ stair climb echoed the actions of firefighters and first responders who climbed the towers to rescue and save lives. Their determination and courage served as a model for the ROTC participants.

Texas State University’s ROTC programs continue to prioritize remembrance and community involvement. The annual stair climb is just one way they honor the historical significance of September 11, while fostering a sense of unity among cadets.

The memorial stair climb is an opportunity for cadets to reflect on the past and the values of service, dedication, and sacrifice. The event aims to instill these values in future military leaders.
