Netflix has confirmed the production of a Korean live-action series adaptation of the popular web novel “Solo Leveling,” starring Byeon Woo-seok in the lead role.
The series will follow the character Sung Jin-woo, an E-rank Hunter who gains extraordinary abilities to become humanity’s hope against monstrous threats.
“Solo Leveling” is based on a Korean web novel and webtoon that has garnered 14.3 billion cumulative views.
The anime adaptation of “Solo Leveling” won nine major categories at the 2025 Crunchyroll Anime Awards.
The live-action series aims to deliver dynamic action, vivid characters, and fantastical elements.
Directors Lee Hae-jun and Kim Byung-seo will co-direct the series.
Kakao Entertainment and SANAI PICTURES are producing the series.
Byeon Woo-seok is known for his roles in “20th Century Girl” and “Lovely Runner.”
