NEW YORK — Robert Cary McNair Jr., son of Houston Texans co-founders Janice McNair and the late Robert McNair, filed a lawsuit against the National Football League (NFL) and others, accusing them of tortious interference and seeking over $60 million in damages.
The lawsuit, filed in New York State Supreme Court and handled by attorney Tony Buzbee, alleges that the NFL conspired with Texans owner Cal McNair, Robert Jr.’s brother, to exclude him from meaningful participation in family businesses. McNair Jr. claims the exclusion aimed to silence him after he raised concerns about league matters.
The complaint outlines a pattern of exclusion from decision-making roles within the family’s business operations, describing it as a deliberate effort to diminish McNair Jr.’s influence. He alleges that his inquiries into NFL-related issues prompted retaliatory actions by the league and Cal McNair.
