MANILA, Philippines- The National University (NU) Lady Bulldogs and De La Salle University Lady Spikers are set to renew their rivalry on Friday at 6:30 p.m. during the Shakey’s Super League Collegiate Preseason Championship at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum, with NU aiming for a third consecutive title against a formidable La Salle opposition.

Over recent years, these two teams have dominated collegiate volleyball, and their meetings are highly anticipated by fans and spectators. Both teams have impressive records in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP), making this clash a highlight of the volleyball calendar.

The NU Lady Bulldogs have been a formidable force, boasting a stellar lineup that includes key players like Alyssa Solomon, Bella Belen, and Vange Alinsug. They have consistently demonstrated high-level performance and teamwork, which has led them to secure victories time and again. Their current quest for a “three-peat” adds extra pressure and motivation for the Bulldogs to perform at their peak.

The Lady Spikers from La Salle are well known for their resilience and robust play on the court. They have an unbeaten record this season in the Shakey’s Super League, making them formidable opponents. Their previous encounters with NU have been intense, and they are equipped with a strategy to counteract the Bulldogs’ strengths. Their roster comprises experienced players who have excelled in crucial matches, showcasing their ability to challenge the reigning champions.

The Shakey’s Super League has become an essential platform for collegiate volleyball in the Philippines, providing teams with the opportunity to showcase their skills and prepare for the regular season. The ongoing rivalry between NU and La Salle adds a thrilling narrative to this year’s championship.

This year’s finals are eagerly anticipated following the memorable clash between the two teams in 2022, where the Lady Bulldogs emerged victorious. Fans are keen to see if La Salle can turn the tables this time or if NU will continue its winning streak.
