HOUSTON, Texas — Texas-based gas station chain Buc-ee’s has filed a lawsuit in federal court against Super Fuels, a North Texas competitor, accusing the company of trademark infringement.
The lawsuit alleges that Super Fuels’ logo, featuring a cartoon dog mascot, closely resembles Buc-ee’s iconic beaver mascot, potentially causing confusion among consumers.
Buc-ee’s claims that the similarity between the two logos is not coincidental and argues that Super Fuels’ actions constitute trademark infringement under U.S. intellectual property law.
The company is also accusing Super Fuels of trademark dilution, arguing that the use of a similar logo weakens Buc-ee’s brand identity.
Buc-ee’s is seeking monetary damages and a permanent injunction to prevent Super Fuels from using the disputed logo. The company maintains that its beaver mascot is a key element of its brand identity.
Super Fuels, based in Irving, operates multiple gas stations in North Texas. The company has not yet responded to the lawsuit.
