MANILA, Philippines– Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. announced plans to pursue legal action against individuals or groups alleged to have spread misinformation about him during the 2025 senatorial election.

Revilla, who ran under the administration-backed Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas, did not secure a seat in the recently concluded election.

According to his legal counsel, Atty. Raymond Fortun, the senator, believes that circulating rumors related to his alleged obligation to return P124.5 million in pork barrel funds adversely affected his candidacy.

Fortun made the statement during a press conference on Monday, asserting that the misinformation campaign may have influenced public perception and contributed to Revilla’s defeat.

The legal team emphasized that they are taking steps to identify those responsible and will file appropriate charges.

Revilla’s team maintains that the senator was cleared of any legal obligation to return the amount in question and views the recent claims as misleading. Legal proceedings are expected to move forward in the coming weeks.
