MANILA, Philippines — Sen. Christopher Bong Go denied allegations in a redacted document issued Feb. 13 by the International Criminal Court Office of the Prosecutor that identified him as an alleged co-perpetrator.

In a statement, Go said the accusations were unfounded and did not reflect the scope of his duties during his service as Special Assistant to the President from June 2016 to October 2018 and as executive assistant to the mayor of Davao City from 1998 to 2016.

Go said his responsibilities during those periods were administrative and clerical and did not involve police or operational matters. He also rejected claims that he served as Chief of the Presidential Management Staff, saying he never held that position.

He said he had no involvement in, knowledge of, or authority over the acts cited in the ICC document. He added that during his tenure working with former President Rodrigo Duterte, he did not receive or carry out any illegal orders.

Go said he would continue performing his duties as senator despite the allegations and would remain focused on legislative work and public service.
