Attorney General Pam Bondi has ordered Department of Justice agents to ICE facilities across the country to increase security.

Bondi cited actions directed at ICE as the reason for the deployment. She said the DOJ will support federal personnel and enforce laws protecting agents and facilities.

In addition to the agent deployment, Bondi directed counterterrorism units to investigate threats and incidents linked to ICE facilities. The DOJ plans to identify and pursue individuals or groups responsible for attacks.

The Justice Department has not released numbers or details about the agent deployment. Officials stated that operations will proceed in coordination with local law enforcement.

The action follows incidents at ICE locations involving protests and property damage. Officials said the security measures aim to prevent disruptions and maintain operations.

Some groups support the move as a protection effort for law enforcement. Others have raised concerns about the impact on local communities and the relationship between agencies and residents.

Bondi stated that the deployment will remain under review. The DOJ has said it will adjust plans based on assessments and continue working with local officials.
