MANILA — Regine Velasquez has been named Billboard Philippines’ Woman of the Year for 2026, with the magazine highlighting her enduring influence on Filipino music.

The announcement came on Tuesday, March 17, praising Velasquez for her “vocal brilliance, cultural impact, and unwavering dedication to OPM.” Billboard Philippines described her as “a force in the industry” and a benchmark for future generations of Filipino artists.

Velasquez will be formally honored at the Billboard Philippines Women In Music 2026 event on March 24. Other female artists to be recognized include G22 as a Rising Star, KZ Tandingan as a Rule Breaker, Yeng Constantino as a Hitmaker, BINI as a Powerhouse, and Lolita Carbon as an Icon.

Recently, Velasquez opened up about her ongoing struggle with stage anxiety, noting that performing—which once excited her—has become more challenging over time. She reassured fans that she is managing it, attributing it to the natural process of aging.
