Bexar County voters have approved $503 million in funding for a new San Antonio Spurs arena and upgrades to the city’s rodeo facilities as part of Project Marvel.

The decision followed the passage of Propositions A and B, allowing the Spurs to advance plans for a $1.3 billion downtown arena.

Project Marvel is a major initiative aimed at revitalizing downtown San Antonio, boosting tourism, and expanding the city’s entertainment offerings.

The approval of the two propositions demonstrates strong public backing for the project, with voter turnout reflecting widespread interest in the city’s growth and economic development. City officials and community leaders have expressed optimism about the project’s potential to generate jobs, attract visitors, and stimulate local business activity.

The proposed downtown arena will feature modern amenities designed to enhance the fan experience and establish a new hub for sports and entertainment in San Antonio.

Upgrades to the rodeo facility will expand capacity and improve the venue’s infrastructure, positioning it to host larger events and national competitions.

The Spurs organization described the arena as a central piece of San Antonio’s vision for a vibrant, future-ready downtown. The team’s leadership emphasized its commitment to working closely with city planners and community representatives to ensure the project benefits both residents and visitors.

Officials believe the developments will strengthen San Antonio’s position as a leading destination for sports, music, and cultural events.

With voter approval secured, the project will now enter the detailed planning and design phases. The city will coordinate with architects, developers, and stakeholders to refine project details and ensure compliance with municipal guidelines.

Enhancements to the rodeo facility will complement the downtown arena by improving its accessibility and amenities, furthering San Antonio’s reputation as a premier venue for rodeo and livestock events.
