BEXAR COUNTY, Texas — A Bexar County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) worker, Roel Jasso, has been taken into custody following allegations of attempting to assault a female coworker, authorities reported.

Jasso faces charges of official oppression and indecent assault after allegedly making inappropriate comments and engaging in unwanted physical contact with the victim.

The accusations include embracing the coworker in a bear hug, kissing her on the cheek, and slapping her buttocks, actions that reportedly caused the victim discomfort.

The incident is said to have occurred in a shower setting, where Jasso allegedly made inappropriate remarks such as wishing he were 20 years younger or the victim were 20 years older.

An investigation revealed that the relationship between Jasso and the female coworker was strictly professional.

During the inquiry, Jasso admitted to kissing the victim but denied other physical contact allegations. Despite his denial, the charges against him remain.

A Human Resources report recommended a final warning and suggested transferring Jasso to another station to prevent further incidents and maintain workplace safety.

Bexar County EMS has not released further details on Jasso’s employment status or any additional disciplinary actions.
