DAVAO CITY, Philippines — Acting Davao City Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte on Sunday said President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. should undergo a drug test before joining a proposed charity boxing match.

Duterte made the statement during an episode of his podcast while addressing Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Gen. Nicolas Torre III.

He specifically called for a hair follicle drug test as a prerequisite for the President’s participation in the event.

The comments came after Duterte challenged Torre to a fistfight on the same podcast.

On Wednesday, Torre accepted the challenge and suggested converting the confrontation into a charity boxing match to raise funds for victims of the southwest monsoon, locally known as habagat.
