Manila, Philippines – Bamban Mayor Alice Guo has been identified as Chinese national Guo Hua Ping through fingerprint analysis, Senator Risa Hontiveros revealed on Thursday. The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) confirmed the match, which Hontiveros described as a significant development in the investigation into Mayor Guo’s true identity.
“It means, they are the fingerprints of one and the same person. This confirms what I have suspected all along. Mayor Alice is a fake Filipino — or should I say, Guo Hua Ping. She is a Chinese national masquerading as a Filipino citizen to facilitate crimes being committed by Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs),” Hontiveros stated.
Hontiveros highlighted the implications of this revelation, calling it a grave insult to the voters of Bamban and the Philippine government.
“This is very strong evidence to remove Mayor Alice from public office,” she added in Filipino.
Hontiveros urged the Office of the Solicitor General to expedite the filing of a quo warranto case against Guo, emphasizing the need to hold the suspended official accountable for crimes linked to her POGO hub.
“This revelation is not the end. Guo Hua Ping, soon, we will know the full extent of your deception. We will dig deeper and locate the systemic roots of our POGO problem,” Hontiveros vowed.
The investigation began after Senator Sherwin Gatchalian alleged that the suspended mayor was actually Guo Hua Ping, a claim that prompted Hontiveros to direct the NBI to compare the fingerprints of Guo Hua Ping and Alice Guo.
Guo has faced scrutiny due to her alleged ties to Zun Yuan Technology, an illegal POGO operator in Bamban, Tarlac. The Senate committee on women, chaired by Hontiveros, has been probing illegal activities associated with POGOs, including Guo’s involvement.
Hontiveros disclosed that she had formally requested the NBI to compare the biometrics data of Guo Hua Ping and Alice Guo, leading to the fingerprint match.
Earlier, Senator Gatchalian presented documents from the Board of Investments and Bureau of Immigration, alleging that Mayor Guo’s true identity contradicted her claim of being the “lovechild” of her father and his housekeeper, Amelia Leal.
