Averie Bishop, a dynamic figure in the realms of advocacy, public service, and pageantry, is set to host the 15th Anniversary Gala and State Awards of the Philippine-American Chamber of Commerce Texas (PACCTX) on Friday, October 18, 2024. The event, taking place at the prestigious Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center, will celebrate the achievements of the Filipino-American community in Texas, with Bishop at the forefront as the Master of Ceremonies.

Bishop, known for making history as the first Asian American and Filipino American to win the Miss Texas title in 2022, continues to use her platform to amplify underrepresented voices and tackle key social issues. Since her pageant win, she has gained recognition for her outspoken advocacy on topics such as reproductive rights, gun control, and racial equity. Beyond her advocacy work, Bishop’s public speaking skills, honed through years of pageant competition, nonprofit leadership, and educational initiatives, make her a natural fit to lead an event of such stature.

In addition to her pageant accolades, Averie Bishop’s career extends far beyond the stage. She is the co-founder and director of a nonprofit organization that provides scholarships and educational resources to underserved communities in the Philippines, further cementing her commitment to improving lives both locally and abroad. Moreover, Bishop is also an attorney by training and has recently announced her political ambitions, running for the Texas House of Representatives in 2023 for District 112, focusing on issues like environmental sustainability, education reform, and economic development.

As the Master of Ceremonies for the PACCTX gala, Bishop will guide the evening’s events, ensuring that the program flows smoothly and engaging the audience throughout the night. The gala will kick off with a Vendor Exhibit and Mixer at 5:00 PM (CST), followed by the main program at 6:00 PM (CST), which will feature performances, awards presentations, and a celebration of the community’s milestones over the last 15 years. With Bishop’s charismatic presence and expertise in public speaking, the gala promises to be an evening filled with elegance, inspiration, and cultural pride.

The 15th Anniversary Gala marks an important milestone for PACCTX, an organization dedicated to promoting Filipino-American entrepreneurship, fostering cross-cultural ties, and supporting community development. As the Filipino-American community in Texas continues to grow and thrive, events like these serve as vital opportunities to celebrate the progress made and lay the groundwork for future success.

Averie Bishop’s role as Master of Ceremonies highlights her continued dedication to serving and uplifting the Filipino-American community. Her presence at the gala is a reflection of her broader mission to advocate for diversity, equality, and opportunity, both in Texas and beyond. As one of the most prominent Filipino-American figures in Texas, Bishop will undoubtedly bring energy, grace, and a deep sense of pride to this significant celebration.
