San Antonio holiday sales show slow early pace in 2025

Statewide sales tax collections from other economic sectors in November 2025, compared with November 2024, showed mixed results. Motor vehicle sales and rental taxes totaled $614 million, up 5 percent. Motor fuel taxes reached $324 million, up 4 percent. Oil production tax collections fell 9 percent to $394 million, while natural gas production taxes declined 21 percent to $169 million. Hotel occupancy tax collections totaled $61 million, up less than 1 percent, and alcoholic beverage taxes decreased 2 percent to $148 million.
