AUSTIN, Texas — The newly completed Waterline Tower at 98 Red River Street now holds the title of the tallest building in Texas, reaching approximately 1,022 feet in height.

The tower surpasses the previous record set by the JPMorgan Chase Tower in Houston, which stands at 1,002 feet.

Developed by Lincoln Property Company and Kairoi Residential in partnership with investment firm KKR, the Waterline Tower is a 74-story mixed-use development that includes residential units, office spaces, and a luxury hotel. The building was designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates.

Construction began in 2019 and generated substantial local employment. Located at the southern edge of Austin’s Central Business District, the tower is expected to become a defining feature of the city’s skyline.

The lower floors house a hotel, the middle section provides office space, and the upper floors are designated for residential use.

Amenities include a sky deck, an infinity pool, and sustainable building features such as energy-efficient systems and materials that promote natural light and ventilation.

Local officials supported the project, which is anticipated to stimulate economic activity and contribute to increasing property values in the surrounding area.
