Austin Energy on Tuesday in Austin, Texas, announced a $735 million 10-year electric resiliency plan to upgrade infrastructure to withstand severe weather.

The plan will fund grid hardening projects to improve reliability and reduce outages during extreme weather events. The 10-year effort will focus on strengthening critical infrastructure across the service area.

Austin Energy will phase the $735 million investment over the decade to minimize disruption during construction and upgrades. Additional details on projects, timelines, and affected areas will be published as implementation progresses.

The plan will align with existing reliability standards and regulatory requirements for electric utilities in Texas. Austin Energy will monitor system performance and weather trends during the 10-year period and adjust project priorities as needed.

The utility will provide public updates on the progress of the electric resiliency plan throughout the implementation period.
