Content creator Arshie Larga provided ₱500 in fuel assistance to 1,169 tricycle drivers in Boac, Marinduque, over the Easter weekend.
Larga, known for his social media content about medicines, announced the initiative on his Facebook page. The distribution began on Easter Sunday, April 5, and continued through Monday, April 6.
Larga said the initiative aimed to support the local transportation sector, which has been affected by rising fuel prices caused by escalating tensions in the Middle East and recent airstrikes involving the United States, Israel, and Iran.
He credited his social media followers and local gasoline station owners for helping implement the fuel support program. Larga clarified that the initiative was intended solely as aid, amid speculation about potential political ambitions.
Larga has over 4.3 million followers on TikTok and more than 2.7 million on Facebook. He was also included in Forbes’ “30 under 30 Asia” list in 2024.
