Actress and television host Anne Curtis shared on Friday,  how she experiences grief and longing for her late father James Curtis-Smith as she left Australia where her family held his funeral and burial.

Curtis posted on Instagram a video compilation of moments with her father that spanned from her childhood to her wedding, and she used the post to express her emotions about parting from him and from Australia.

She wrote in the caption that she left Australia “with a heavy heart” and said that in her memories she and her father “will never part,” addressing him as her “huckleberry friend,” “gentle giant,” and “father dearest.”

Curtis stated in the same caption that “the grief comes in waves” and indicated that she continues to feel pain over her father’s death while holding on to their shared memories.

She described her farewell message to her father with the line, “I’ll see you when I see you,” and ended her caption with “always, until then,” which signaled her continuing attachment to him despite his passing.

The actress did not specify in the post the exact date of her father’s death, but she referenced that Australia served as the place where her family laid him to rest.

The post also included images that showed Curtis and her father together in various locations in Australia, which emphasized the country’s role as a setting for many of their family memories.

Curtis, who built a long career in Philippine entertainment after spending part of her childhood in Australia, maintained that her memories with her father remain vivid as she resumes her activities away from the country where he was buried.
