Anheuser-Busch has unveiled plans for a $14 million renovation to its Houston brewery, reinforcing its commitment to enhancing operational efficiency and sustainability. This investment follows a $22.5 million upgrade to the brewery’s cooling system completed last year.

The upcoming renovations will include advanced improvements to manufacturing equipment, installation of new air rinsers designed to reduce water usage, upgraded wireless connectivity, and the replacement of the facility’s roof. Located at 775 Gellhorn Drive, the brewery has been a significant part of Houston’s industrial landscape since its establishment in 1966. It was the fourth of 12 major breweries constructed by Anheuser-Busch, and its production capacity has grown from 1 million barrels at inception to a current maximum of 14.2 million barrels.

“We’ve been a proud member of the Texas community for nearly 60 years, and this investment is a testament to Anheuser-Busch’s commitment to producing high-quality beer here in Houston,” said Ryan Hudgins, senior general manager of the brewery.

The $14 million renovation is part of a broader effort by Anheuser-Busch, which has invested nearly $2 billion in its facilities over the past five years. The Houston brewery remains the company’s only Texas location, complementing its other major facilities in St. Louis, Los Angeles, Jacksonville, Columbus, and Newark.

“Investing in the communities where our people live and work is part of who we are,” said Anheuser-Busch CEO Brendan Whitworth. “Through continued investments in our facilities like our Houston brewery, we’re improving our capabilities and contributing to the prosperity of the communities we serve.”
