MANILA, Philippines- Angelica Panganiban said she returned to acting after a three-year break because her husband, Gregg Homan, encouraged and supported her. She spoke to reporters about her role in the film The Soulmate Project and how she prepared for it.
Panganiban paused her career in 2021 after becoming pregnant, focusing on her family. Homan urged her to take new roles and promised to help care for their daughter so she could work. Initially hesitant, Panganiban accepted the film after discussing schedules, childcare, and her readiness with him.
She adjusted her routine for early call times, script readings, and shooting days while coordinating childcare with Homan. Treating the film as a major comeback, she studied her character, attended workshops, and rehearsed key scenes to deliver a consistent performance.
Panganiban said she felt nervous returning to a full-length shoot, but the cast and crew helped her adjust. She followed a strict schedule that included travel, fittings, hair and makeup, and late-night shoots while staying in touch with Homan about their daughter.
After the film’s release, she monitored audience reactions and thanked fans for their support. She prepared a Best Actress acceptance speech in advance to recognize Homan, her family, and the production team if she won.
Panganiban plans to take on future projects while coordinating with Homan to balance work and family responsibilities.
