DALLAS — Amazon has launched its 30-minute delivery service in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex as part of a rollout of its “Amazon Now” program, the company said in a press release.

The company said it previously tested the service in Dallas-Fort Worth, Atlanta, Philadelphia and Seattle before expanding it to additional cities, including Austin, Houston, Phoenix, Denver and Oklahoma City.

Amazon said the service allows customers to order groceries, household essentials and other items for delivery in 30 minutes or less.

Udit Madan, senior vice president of Amazon Worldwide Operations, said the service is designed for customers who need fast delivery of everyday items. He said the platform includes thousands of products ranging from groceries and electronics to household goods.

Amazon said it has also expanded other delivery options, including one-hour and three-hour delivery services covering more than 90,000 products in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

When available, the “30-Minute Delivery” option appears in the Amazon app or on the homepage. The company said Prime members are charged a $3.99 delivery fee per order, while non-Prime customers are charged $13.99. Additional fees apply for orders below $15.

Amazon said it plans to expand the service to tens of millions of customers nationwide by the end of the year.
