MACAU, China — Filipino tennis player Alex Eala will face Russian teen Mirra Andreeva on Sunday at the Macau Tennis Masters as the tournament concludes its weekend schedule, organizers announced.
The match will close Eala’s season following her gold medal performance at the 33rd Southeast Asian Games.
Tournament officials scheduled the exhibition match as part of a lineup featuring both rising and established players from the international tennis circuit. Organizers confirmed that Eala and Andreeva arrived in Macau earlier this week and completed practice sessions on the tournament courts.
The exhibition match will not affect official Women’s Tennis Association rankings. Event staff arranged player transport, accommodation, and practice slots, and coordinated with local authorities to implement security, crowd management, and health protocols. Ticket sales and promotional activities aimed to attract local and visiting fans to Sunday’s matches.
The tournament will continue through the weekend with a series of exhibition matches featuring male and female players from various countries. Macau sports authorities support the event as part of efforts to promote tennis and international sports tourism in the city.
