Alex Eala climbs to World No. 51, bows out of Hong Kong Open doubles

MANILA, Philippines– Filipino tennis player Alex Eala has reached a career-high ranking of World No. 51 in the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA), announced in Manila.

Eala achieved this milestone despite first-round exits in both the Japan Women’s Open and the Guangzhou Open. Previously, she held the 53rd spot before advancing in the rankings.

Eala participated in the Hong Kong Open where she competed in the doubles category. However, her journey ended as she and her partner exited the tournament in the early rounds.

The player’s performance in various international competitions continues to contribute to her rising global tennis profile.
