Alex Eala and her partner Nadiia Kichenok exited the Guangzhou Open doubles semifinals on Saturday after a loss to Janice Tjen from Indonesia and Katarzyna Piter from Poland.

The match concluded with scores of 7-6(4), 3-6, 5-10.

Eala and Kichenok secured the first set through a tiebreaker.

Despite the initial victory, their performance dwindled in the following sets.

Janice Tjen and Katarzyna Piter capitalized on this shift in momentum to secure their place in the finals.

The duo’s victory in the second set with a score of 3-6 led them to a super tie-break, finishing at 5-10.

This defeat marked the end of the tournament run for Eala and Kichenok.
