Alex Eala dominates opener at Jingshan Open

MANILA, Philippines — Alex Eala achieved a straight-sets victory over Aliona Fei of Belarus, winning 6-3, 7-5, at the Jingshan Open on Tuesday in China.

Eala, a 20-year-old tennis player, secured the first set with ease. In the second set, she broke a 4-4 tie by winning a prolonged ninth game to take the lead against the world-ranked No. 322 player.

The Jingshan Open is part of the WTA 125 tournaments and took place from September 22 to 28.
