A Powerball ticket sold in Arkansas won a $1.817 billion jackpot in the Christmas Eve drawing on Wednesday, ending a three-month streak without a top prize winner.
The winning numbers were 04, 25, 31, 52, 59, with Powerball number 19, according to officials from the Multi-State Lottery Association.
The drawing, conducted in Tallahassee, Florida, produced the largest Powerball prize ever awarded to a ticket sold in Arkansas. Strong sales across multiple states pushed the advertised jackpot to $1.817 billion before the drawing, following 40 consecutive drawings without a winner.
Arkansas Scholarship Lottery officials confirmed that the winning ticket was sold in the state. The jackpot winner must claim the prize within the state’s required period and can choose a lump-sum cash option or a 30-year annuity. The cash value will be determined after federal and applicable state taxes.
The drawing also produced several lower-tier winners, including prizes of $1 million and $2 million for players who matched five white balls with or without the Power Play option. Retailers who sold winning tickets are eligible for incentive bonuses.
