MANILA, Philippines– Social media personality Ivana Alawi has been named in a criminal complaint filed by Dominique “Nikki” Lopez-Benitez, the estranged wife of Bacolod congressman-elect Albee Benitez.
The complaint, which was lodged in Makati, alleges violence against women and children and accuses Alawi of being involved in an illicit relationship with Benitez, who is also the outgoing mayor of Bacolod City.
The complaint, a copy of which circulated on social media on Thursday, also alleges that Benitez fathered two illegitimate children.
Lawyer Peter Sanchez, representing Albee Benitez, denied the allegations in a public statement.
