CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, PAMPANGA, Philippines — Former Senator Paolo Benigno “Bam” Aquino IV has reached out to supporters of former Vice President Leni Robredo as he prepares for a run in the 2025 midterm elections. Aquino attended a block screening on Friday at SM Pampanga for the documentary ”And So It Begins,” directed by award-winning filmmaker and journalist, John Torres.

During the event, Aquino expressed his enthusiasm about the upcoming elections and emphasized the importance of unity among like-minded individuals and groups. He acknowledged the role of Robredo supporters in his previous campaigns, highlighting their dedication and commitment to change. Aquino’s appearance at the screening was seen as a way to reconnect and rally support ahead of the elections.

The documentary screened at the event follows the journey of various individuals and movements, including those advocating for social justice, good governance, and community empowerment. It underscores themes of resilience and hope, resonating with the values that Robredo’s supporters have championed in recent years.

Aquino’s connection with Robredo’s supporters is significant, given the strong grassroots movement that emerged during her presidential campaign in 2022. The network of volunteers and advocates created a robust support system that continues to influence the political landscape in the Philippines. Aquino’s participation in this screening serves not only as a means to strengthen these connections but also to promote the ideals that align with Robredo’s vision for the country.

As Aquino gears up for his candidacy, the political environment remains dynamic, with many familiar faces from the past elections likely to throw their hats into the ring. Some observers note that the alliance between Aquino and Robredo’s supporters could play a vital role in his campaign strategy.

With the midterm elections approaching, Aquino is expected to continue engaging with various communities and groups that share his policy interests. His efforts to foster relationships within Robredo’s base may create opportunities for collaborative initiatives aimed at addressing pressing national issues.
