MANILA, Philippines– President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. will retain his core economic team and Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin while making changes in two Cabinet positions following the midterm elections.

At a press briefing on Friday, Executive Secretary Bersamin confirmed that the administration’s economic team would remain in place.

As part of a post-election Cabinet reshuffle, President Marcos dismissed two members of his Cabinet. Foreign Affairs Secretary Enrique Manalo will be replaced by Department of Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Tess Lazaro.

Environment Secretary Maria Antonia Yulo-Loyzaga also resigned, with the President accepting her resignation and acknowledging her service.

The President emphasized that retaining the economic team reflects a commitment to continuity in financial policy and maintaining economic stability.

All Cabinet members were previously asked to submit courtesy resignations, a step the administration described as a means to evaluate and improve government operations.

President Marcos has expressed confidence in the capabilities of his economic advisers, who are expected to continue work on key financial and development strategies.
