PARIS, France– Rafael Nadal, the retired 14-time French Open champion, will be honored with a tribute at the French Open in Paris on May 25, coinciding with the tournament’s opening day.
French Open Director Amélie Mauresmo announced the tribute ceremony on Thursday, emphasizing Nadal’s significant impact on the tournament’s history.
Mauresmo described the tribute as intended to be special and exceptional, aiming for it to be a surprise.
Nadal, a 22-time Grand Slam champion, retired in November 2023.
French Open organizers will hold the tribute at Court Philippe-Chatrier.
