MANILA, Philippines — Families of individuals killed in former President Rodrigo Duterte’s anti-drug campaign called for an investigation into a surge of online threats they have received since Duterte’s arrest.
Authorities detained Duterte on March 11 and transferred him to the International Criminal Court (ICC) in the Netherlands.
Families of victims allege they have faced a coordinated campaign of online harassment following this development.
The ICC had issued an arrest warrant for Duterte on March 7, citing criminal responsibility for crimes against humanity, including murder.
The families called on law enforcement agencies to act swiftly and ensure their safety as they navigate this challenging period.
