AUSTIN, Texas– A 17-year-old Anderson High School senior died in a car crash in Northwest Austin on March 31.
The crash occurred around 1:55 a.m. on the 8800 block of N Capital of Texas Highway.
Emergency responders pronounced Malachi Jensen dead at the scene of the crash.
A passenger in the car sustained injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment.
The Austin Police Department is conducting an investigation into the circumstances of the crash.
Anderson High School sent out an email to parents expressing condolences and highlighting Jensen’s positive impact on the community.
The school is offering counseling support to students and staff affected by the incident.
