MANILA, Philippines–The Philippine Embassy in Thailand warned against false reports claiming that 10 Filipinos died following a magnitude 7.7 earthquake that struck central Myanmar on Friday afternoon.

The embassy confirmed there were no reports of harm to any Filipino nationals in the aftermath of the earthquake.

Officials at the embassy stated they had received no information regarding any injuries or fatalities among Filipinos due to the tremor.

The embassy emphasized the importance of relying on official sources for information during such emergencies.

The embassy is actively monitoring the situation and remains in communication with Filipino nationals in the area.

Filipinos in Myanmar are advised to stay informed and connected with the embassy for current updates.

Authorities continue to assess the impact of the earthquake on local communities.

The embassy urged the public to refrain from spreading false information that could lead to panic.

In light of the situation, the Philippine Embassy remains on high alert to assist any Filipino citizens if necessary.

The earthquake’s impact on infrastructure and residents in central Myanmar is still being evaluated by local authorities.

As of now, no official reports indicate any Filipinos harmed or affected by the earthquake.

The Embassy continues to coordinate with local authorities to ensure the safety of all nationals in the affected area.
