THRALL, Texas — Authorities are investigating the death of a 30-year-old woman found deceased in her home on County Road 433 in Thrall, Williamson County, over the weekend.

The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office is considering a fentanyl overdose as a possible cause of death.

Deputies and first responders were dispatched to the scene after receiving a call concerning the woman’s condition.

Upon arrival, they discovered her lifeless. Initial evidence at the scene suggested the involvement of fentanyl, a powerful synthetic opioid known for its high potency.

Fentanyl is estimated to be 50 to 100 times stronger than morphine and has been linked to a rising number of overdose fatalities nationwide.

The sheriff’s office is conducting a thorough investigation, including autopsy and toxicology reports, to determine the exact cause of death. As of now, no additional details regarding the medical evaluations have been released.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has reported a rise in drug overdose deaths involving synthetic opioids, such as fentanyl, in recent years.
